Taling Ngam Beach Koh Samui is home for the Headland Villas, our visitors walk out on to their own private section of the bay. It is definitely one of the most picturesque parts on the island. The bay is surrounded by tropical jungle where tall palms stretch out over the pale sand of the beaches. Visitors will find it a most delightful unspoiled part of the island, a perfect place to get away from it all and relax in the sunshine.
Swimming and sunbathing are two perfect things to do here. The shallow water makes for good family swimming or paddling. The clear water makes it good for snorkeling too. There is a small fishing village a short walk away, there are also several resorts and hotels in Taling Ngam, as well as an assortment of bars and restaurants.
The views look out across the Bay of Thailand where the blue water is punctuated by the "Five islands". Known locally as "Koh Si Koh Ha" which has the more literal meaning of "five islands that look like four" accurately describing how one island is hidden behind the other.
There are several great local restaurants and you can choose from some good Thai food to be eaten right on the beach with your toes in the sand or if you are looking for more sophistication with candles and white table clothes then a meal at the Island View serving delicious Thai fusion meals will fit the bill. The Headland neighbour The Intercontinental††hotel also offers several fine restaurants of its own.
Taling Ngam beach faces west and is a renowned spot to enjoy a fine sunset particularly with the five islands silhouette adding some extra magic to the incredible views. Visitors to the Headland villas can watch from the comfort of the own elevated deck, if you are not so lucky pay a visit to the†Air Bar at†The Intercontinental which sits on the hill behind the beach. It offers†180-degrees of ocean panorama and is an amazing spot for your favourite sunset cocktail.
On the map you will see Taling Ngam beach Koh Samui on the unspoilt western coast south of Lipa Noi and 20 minutes south of the capital Nathon. There is easy access via the island ring road though you will quickly notice that you have got away from the hustle and bustle and entered a quieter and more rural location.
